Editorial policy

Open Style Journal aims to make style easier to read, not easier to sell. We explain our reasoning, correct material errors and keep editorial judgement separate from commercial arrangements.

Accuracy and clarity

We check names, terminology and factual statements before publication, and make clear when a passage is interpretation rather than established fact. Comparisons should identify the qualities being compared and the context in which a difference matters. We do not invent testing, expertise, sources or certainty.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a commercial arrangement. A partner cannot buy a favourable conclusion or control unrelated coverage. We disclose relevant interests when they could affect how a reader understands an article.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error or a misleading explanation, contact us with the article and the detail in question. We review the information and correct material errors clearly. We may also clarify wording when it could reasonably be read in a way we did not intend.

Partnerships and illustrations

Paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that is the case, we identify them as such. Illustrations are not evidence for a factual claim.
